Branch Mission:
The Sensor Physics Branch develops advanced algorithms to retrieve the
vertical profiles of temperature, moisture, cloud water, rainfall
rate, and trace gases from research and operational satellite sensors,
validates and analyzes the
retrieved products for weather and climate applications, develops and
maintains advanced radiative transfer and emissivity models for
satellite data assimilation, and oversees the development of future
satellite instruments
