| PURPOSE OF EXPEDITION: | ||
| Exchange the mooring buoy with meteorological
instrumentation, recover MOBY218 and deploy MOBY219, conduct MOCE data collections, perform CIMEL site
maintenance, and work with NIST personnel on MOBY stray light correction algorithms.
|
||
| EXPEDITION SUMMARY: | ||
| High seas and winds prevented any buoy operations
from being performed on 21 Jan. On 22 Jan, MOBY218 was successfully recovered, and the mooring buoy
with meteorological sensors was exchanged with Mooring Systems, Inc. personnel. Data collection for bio-optical algorithm development was accomplished only on 23 Jan; both satellite (MODIS and SeaWiFS) overpasses were ~100 nm away from MOBY. Nearly 100% cloud cover precluded data collection during the rest of the cruise. CIMEL site maintenance was performed on 24 Jan and diver lamp calibrations occurred on 27 Jan. |
