Please note that each of these buildings is a
Federally controlled building. Visitors will experience routine security on entering the buildings
and must have authorization for entering. Please notify the person you plan to visit ahead of time
so that your entry to the site is expected.

Metro:You can take the Metro Green Line train to the Suitland Station. The station is a five
minute walk from the station to the Suitland Federal Complex. There is a shuttle bus which runs
from the station to the Federal Center, or you may arrange to have someone pick you up at the
station, by calling ahead.

From points in Virginia, travel
on Interstate 495 / 95 southeast of Washington, DC, to the Pennsylvania Avenue exit. Go inside
the beltway (North) along Pennsylvania Avenue until you come to the Silver Hill Road. Turn left
on Silver Hill Road. Travel about 1 mile until you see the Suitland Federal Complex on your
right. Turn into main gate and check through the security systems. Park in Visitors Parking only,
unless you have a parking permit for this facility.
From points in Maryland, travel
on Interstate 495 / 95 east of Washington, DC, to the Pennsylvania Avenue exit. Go inside the
beltway (North) along Pennsylvania Avenue until you come to the Silver Hill Road. Turn left on
Silver Hill Road. Travel about 1 mile until you see the Suitland Federal Complex on your right.
Turn into main gate and check through the security systems. Park in Visitors Parking only, unless
you have a parking permit for this facility.
From downtown in the District of
Columbia, either go out to the beltway and proceed either direction following the
directions above, or proceed south on South Capitol Street across the South Capitol Street bridge
and continue along Suitland Parkway. Exit Suitland Parkway at Silver Hill Road, going north.
The Suitland Federal Complex will be on your left in just a block or two. Turn into the main gate
and proceed through the security systems.

Metro: The easiest way to travel to the Silver Spring Metro Complex is to take the Metro.
From whatever Metro line you are closest to, find the nearest intersection with the Red Line.
Metro Center Station is a reliable intersection for the blue and orange lines. If you are on the
Green or Yellow line, transfer to the Red Line train at Gallery Place. Take the Red Line train
toward Silver Spring or Glenmont. Get off at the Silver Spring Metro station. Exit the station
and walk to your left, around and under the Metro tracks bridge and left into the plaza area
between SSMC-1 and SSMC-2. To go to SSMC-3, SSMC-4, or SSMC-5 (Auditorium),
continue walking through the plaza area and along East-West Highway until you have arrived at
the building to which you want to go.

From points in Maryland or
Virginia, proceed around the Capital Beltway, Interstate 495, until you find the exit for
Georgia Avenue. Exit south along Georgia Avenue and travel until you come to Colesville Road.
Turn right on Colesville Road and go to the second traffic light. Turn left onto East-West
Highway. The buildings immediately on your left are the Silver Spring Metro complex. Public
parking for a small fee is available beneath the buildings, although there are times when the lots
are full.
From points in Washington, DC:
(1) Drive north on Georgia Avenue to East-West Highway. Turn left on East-West
Highway and go three blocks to the SSMC complex on your right. Or (2) Drive north on either
16th Street, or Connecticut Avenue, or Wisconsin Avenue to East-West Highway. Turn right
onto East-West Highway and go to the intersection with Colesville Road. Continue through the
light and the SSMC complex is immediately on your left.

ten minute walk from the station to the WWB, or you may arrange to have someone pick you up
at the station, by calling ahead.

From points in Virginia, travel
on Interstate 495 / 95 southeast of Washington, DC, to the Branch Avenue exit. Go inside the
beltway (North) along Branch Avenue and you will come to the Auth Road traffic light
immediately inside the beltway. Turn right onto Auth Road. Go 1 block to the next light and the
building on the corner ahead of you to the left is the NOAA Science Center (World Weather
Building).
From points in Maryland, travel
on Interstate 495 / 95 east of Washington, DC, to the Branch Avenue north exit. The exit ramp
will end at a traffic light and the building immediately ahead on your right is the NOAA Science
Center (World Weather Building).
From downtown in the District of
Columbia, either go out to the beltway and proceed either direction following the
directions above, or proceed south on South Capitol Street across the South Capitol Street bridge
and continue along Suitland Parkway. Exit Suitland Parkway at Branch Avenue, going south.
Proceed out Branch Avenue until you get to Auth Road, just before the beltway. Turn left onto
Auth Road. At the first traffic light, the building on the corner ahead of you to the left is the
NOAA Science Center (World Weather Building).
